Query/Report that gives list of ALL local printers at site Friday, October 25, 2013 1:09 PM (permalink)

Good morning,
I have printers set for inventory on my SCCM 2012 environment.  I need to run a query on all USB/LPT connected printers in the district.
Can someone please help me with a query/report or something that I can run that will give me a list of all printer models that have been collected from all my clients?
This will help me in collecting drivers while we go forward with our district-wide windows 7 migrations.
Many thanks!

Enable the win32_printer class within hardware inventory to get local printer.

gjones: i appreciate the reply, but as stated in my original message I have already set it to grab the printer data for win32_printer for local printers.

I need a way of collecting all that data for every computer in the district that has local printers (usb/LPT)

ok I didn't get that the first time I read your post.

The basic report query is always going to look like this following.
Select * from (what every the SQL view name is called)

So what am I missing as to what the issue is?

The only issue is I am not well versed in sql/query/etc, complete newbie is a better way of putting it.  I need help putting together a query that will give me a list of all USB/LPT local printers in the district.

I know it's a simple request, but unfortunately I have no clue where to start on building the query/report for this

          I really appreciate your help!

                  Hi GJones,

Maybe, I am going to ask a stupid question but please bear with me. Should I run this query in SCCM Database directly? If yes, how long will it take because it is debugging query for several minutes.

Yes you run this query on the SCCM database. I'm not follow you with your debugging question.

                      It worked!... Thanks....

Though it gave me the list of all printers listed on our computers whether they are current or not. I had to sort them out.... Still, it was very useful.

                      Thanks again.
