Microsoft created Registry Providers to extract data from the registry. Unfortunately these registry providers cause a small, benign error to appear on some Windows 2000 machines in the Application log.

Very Short Story:
Don't use MOFMAN. It's old, buggy, outdated, and dangerous when you start extending your MOF. Use Notepad to manually change True to False and False to True.

The following error was found by a colleague while trying to install an SMS client on one of our servers. The server looked as if it was in good shape, but it turns out that there was an issue with the system variable declarations for "TEMP" and "TMP".
