Did you Know?: MOM Safety

You may know that MOM is a robust Enterprise monitoring tool. But, did you know it even monitors itself?

Nice Feature:
The Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM)2000 OnePoint service restarts itself when it detects that it may have a memory leak and may run out of memory. Also, during startup, the service tries to stop all other processes that have the same image name to make sure that the cleanup job was done adequately.

This is a safety mechanism that keeps the MOM installation from becoming unstable. If a handle begins to leak memory, it is detected by the OnePoint service before the system is compromised and the OnePoint service recycles itself to maintain the operational stability of the system environment.
