SMS FAQ: Syntax Errors when Drilling Down Columns with Commas or Apostrophes in the Text

Problem:
Have any of you advanced users yet encountered the syntax errors generated (typically when drilling down) when your drill-thru value (left-most column) has a comma or an apostrophe in the text displayed?

To see this in action, do a report on software... "Software Companies and their products", then do "List all SW Companies"...

Find an entry with a comma and you'll get "Procedure or function usp_SMSR501 has too many arguments specified."

or find one that does work and drill down (try Adaptec)...

I return a few Adaptec product names, one of which is "Adaptec's blah blah" product ...

try and drill down on this one (it has an apostrophe in the name!) and you'll get "Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 's'. "

This happens to be in the usp_SMSR502 procedureSo anybody know how to revise the source USP's to allow the "LIKE @variable" piece to swallow a comma or apostrophe (single-quote!)??

Resolution:
At the time of posting Microsoft have confirmed this to be a bug.
