Locally Created Collections are Locked

If you see a padlock on your local Collections and you cannot edit any of the Collections, you need to identify that there are no Sender Addresses configured to point to the local server.

A good indication that this issue is affecting you is if you create a new Collection the Collection becomes locked immediately after choosing to Update the Membership.

Review the following items in the SMS Administrator console, and remove any Sender Addresses that list the local server's NetBIOS name:

  • Site Database
  • Site Hierarchy
  • Site Code
  • Site Settings
  • Addresses
