SMS FAQ: Can I install just the Remote Control part of the SMS Client?

Problem:
I have some machines that I purely want to have Remote Control to, nothing else such as Software Distribution. Is there anyway that I can install JUST Remote Control and not the rest of the client?

Resolution:
No as Remote Control is just part of the SMS Client suite. If you only want remote control features, you might want to look into VNC:

This is a great freeware product and works particularly well over dial-up connections. What's even better is that SMS Remote Control and VNC work well together – I’ve had no problems running them both at the same time.

I've just heard of an enhanced version of VNC called TightVNC which is optimised for use over slow links. Again, this utility is free and you can download it from:
