SMS FAQ: Tips for Using Crystal Reports

Problem:
My management wants me to report Hardware Inventory for selected users.

What I am looking for is a good way to have this information printed in a readable report so that the auditors can understand the data. I am currently trying to create reports (for the first time) in Crystal Reports. It is a pain. Does anyone know of any quick tips or FAQ that can help me along the way.

There are so many options and so many SMS SQL tables that I need to link and look through it is driving me crazy.

Resolution:
Best means I've been told about is to use the Access ODBC driver through WBEM to connect to the SMS database (same exact method used by Crystal - you can then begin to use Access' much improved and simplified reporting tools).

Tip: Use an SMS "Query" to get at the basic data you're looking for. Then look at the WQL code in the MMC GUI. This will give you an idea of the "'tables" and fields you'll need to probe.
