Apply the latest in management technology to monitoring Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Make managing of your SharePoint with two new management packs that have been thoroughly tested for compatibility with System Center Essentials 2007:

  • Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Management Pack
  • Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Management Pack

Major improvements from previous packs include:

    • Substantial increase in number of rules, including the addition of performance rules
    • New and improved reports
    • Additional actions
    • New views
    • Elimination of backward compatibility dependencies
    • Increased reliability
    • Reduction of redundant information through tuning and event suppression

These packs monitor the health state of the components in your SharePoint environment that affect performance and availability. When there is an issue that may cause service or performance degradation, Essentials 2007 uses the management packs to detect the issue, alert you to its existence, and facilitate diagnosis and corrective actions. These management packs monitor:

    • Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 related services (Timer, Tracing and Search)
    • Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 related Events
    • Web server applications such as Internet Information Services (IIS)
    • IIS-related Events
    • Microsoft SQL Server® database-related events
    • WSS Server performance

The two management packs can be downloaded from the System Center Management Pack Catalog or from the Microsoft Download Center
