Bio: | | During his tenure at both companies, Michael was involved in many technical projects. Biding his time at the helpdesk, he then moved to the Network Installation group, where he did network client installs to the lovely IBM model 65/70/80 PC’s. It was here he learned the ins and outs of Pathworks and DOS memory management, plus the intricacies of micro channel NIC cards and lovely ADF files.
He lead the Windows NT 4.0 rollout project back in 1998, and was involved in the current rollout of Windows 2000 at the Ann Arbor site. The role of SMS admin was dumped in his lap (aren’t all SMS admins born that way) back in 1996. At that time the SMS site was running at version 1.1 and was used only for application sharing to about 400 systems. Michael quickly brought the site up to 1.2, and after learning how to write login scripts, proceeded to get the SMS client out to 3500 systems. He then migrated the 1.2 site to SMS 2.0 SP3 and life couldn’t have gotten better. Using Wise, SMS installer, Kix, WSH and VBS he has proceeded to make his daily tasks a “one click wonder”.
Michael and his wife live in the lovely small town of Monroe Michigan, home of General Custer. They live in an older home that his wife has spent most of the last year remodeling and updating. He helped a little. Michael enjoys/loves/spends to much time at golf, plays the guitar and likes, well, beer!
