How to turn off the Flash on a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T1

Following on from my post about making sure you know how to turn off your flash this post explains how to control the flash on the Sony DSC-T1. This camera has the following four settings, the status of which is indicated by the flash (lightning bolt) symbol in the viewfinder:

  • Automatic (factory default) - No flash symbol is shown in the view finder.
  • Forced Flash (lightning symbol in the viewfinder) - The flash works whether it's needed or not.
  • Slow Synchro (lightning symbol with "SL" beside it) - The flash strobes regardless.
  • No flash (lightning bolt with a circle round it and a diagonal line going across it)

To switch between modes simply press the Up arrow button on the 4-way pad that has the lightning bolt above.
