Posted to an email list today, an Altiris employee talks about their perception of support since Symantec acquired the systems management company.

Well I work for the Symantec Altiris Business Unit in the enterprise support group. So here's what I would say about Symantec support:
The Altiris business unit support has been left alone since the acquisition - it was not absorbed into the symantec support organization. While I won't say Altiris support is perfect, our level 1 team has had some challenges in the past, I'm biased to believe that we provide excellent support to our customers.
I don't have any direct experience with the Symantec support organization as a customer, other than to hear a bunch of horror stories about how bad other people say that it is so I'll leave that to others who have had direct experience. I will say that in recent meetings, the Symantec executive team has committed to solving whatever support problems Symantec has had/is having.
