I have used 2007 for years but i am setting up a new environment and am wondering for production..... should i stick with 2007 or should i dive into 2012? will the RC be up gradable to RTM, is it easier harder to get going etc etc.....

1st off you have to wait as only TAP customers can put CM12 into production. 2nd, if you wanted to cheat and go with RC2, there is no guarantee you can upgrade to RTM on top of it. The upgrade for the TAP from RC1 to RC2 looked so ugly, that even in my own lab situation, I decided to skip it and wait for RTM. That being said, I'd never stand up a CM07 environment right now. I'd do all the prep work for CM12 (get the servers up and running, get SQL installed and on the latest Cumulative Update, get your base apps and monitoring going). Plus build your CM12 lab. Write some documentation from that lab. Learn what you can there. Basically, I'm saying drag your feet!
