Application Deployment Problems

Hello, I am deploying Windows 7 x64 to HP laptops and desktop computers. The OS installs fine along with all the applications (Office 2010, Lync, Acrobat) on the desktops but does not install the applications on any of the three different models ( HP 6930p, 8440p, 8460p) of laptop I have. Adobe shows that it installs fine but does not, just installs an Adobe folder. Office errors with this:Logon Failure: The machine you are logging onto is protected by an authentication firewall. The specified account is not allowed to authenticate to the machine. (Error: 8007078F; Source: Windows) Lync gives me this error:Failed to run the action: Install "Lync Client-x64 Unattended Install". Incorrect function. (Error: 80070001; Source: Windows) Using SCCM 2007. I have recreated task sequences, pushed down new packages to the Dist Point. Odd thing is that they always install on the desktops. Bob

And if you copy the package to the machine does it work correctly? Change the program to act interactively so you can see if it stopping at some point or change the adobe to /log Fail.log and see what the log files say. Generally the application shouldn't care what model of machine or type of hardware, as long as it is a working OS it should install.

Sounds like you've confirmed the logic for your Task Sequence is definitely working so there must be some other factor(s) at work here. Is it possible your laptops fall under a different GPO with some more restrictive settings? --Neil
