A strange problem: I can install Vista by deploying the sourcefiles through BDD without problem. I patch my Vista Business installation with all updates, and then capture an image of the whole thing. I've tried capturing with both ImageX and WDScapture, which both completes without errors. I add the captured image to BDD, and then select to deploy it to my testpc via PXE. About halfway through the deployment I get the following error:
Windows cannot access the required file \\path\vista.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
Pressing OK yields error:

Task Sequence: Lite Touch Installation failed with the error code
(0x0000001F). Contact your SMS administrator!

During the deployment process, 3 errors and 1 warnings reported!
Setup failed applying image \\path\vistaent.wim, rc=31
ZTI Error - Non-zero return code by LTIApply, rc=31
ZTI Error - Non-zero return code by LTIApply, rc=31
Non-zero return code executing command
"X:\Deploy\Tools\X86\TsmBootstrap.exe" /env: SAStart, rc=-2147467259

What is wrong? I have no clue at all, the path provided in the message is correct, and I have tried to deploy it using a domain admin account, still the same error.

Is this Vista with SP1 installed? If so, try grabbing the latest BDD console: http://www.myitforum.com/forums/RELEASED%3A_MDT_2008_and_BDD_2007_Update_2/m_175960/tm.htm

Sounds like you did not use the undocumented "/flags" option when capturing your image.
ex.
imagex /flags "Enterprise" /capture c: e:\image_name.wim "Description"

If you use the automated cature process built in to the BDD it uses this syntax automatically when capturing a custom image.

Ben Hunter explains here on how to use it under #6. http://blogs.technet.com/benhunter/archive/2007/04/18/top-ten-most-common-bdd-2007-issues.aspx

Also, there are two examples on the Interweb of adding this /flags option to an existing custom image. Neither have worked for me.
One involved using the /export command. Explained by Tim Mintner (Microsoft deployment team)
The other was by Ben Hunter in the link above when using the /info command. (This changed the metadata of the image but screwed it yup at the same time...it just added [FLAGS] to the bottom of the metadata and purged some other info.

Hope this helps without being a bit more than you were looking for.

Thanks to both of you, I updated the BDD console and used the /flags option when capturing a new image, it works perfectly!

I thought I had this working, then the Swedish SP1 for Vista comes out.....I create a new image with Sp1 installed, captured it with the same command as before: imagex /capture /flags "Business" c: q:\VistaSp1.wim "Vista SP1" /verify /compress maximum
Image gets captured, I add it to BDD, create a default task sequence with identical settings to the image without SP1 except for which image to install. PXE boots the pc I imaged, select to deploy the new improved image, and it halts with this error:

During the deployment process, 2 errors and 1 warnings reported!
ERROR - Unable to find setup, needed to install the image [Path to my image]
ZTI Error - Non-zero return code by LTIApply, rc=1

Non-zero return code executing command
"X:\Deploy\Tools\X86\TsmBootstrap.exe" /env: SAStart, rc=-2147467259

What could be the problem this time? The deployment goes up until inject drivers then the evil red screen comes up. I haven't added anything to the task sequence, everything is default.
