CCM_Recently_Used_Apps: Asset Intelligence: Do you enable it ? Friday, July 30, 2010 11:51 AM (permalink)

Do people enable this in the sms_def.mof.  My issue with this class is that it adds so much more info to the HW inventory, so the mif files are much larger and take longer to process once it hits dataldr.  I do see the benefit of being able to capture this info, but I'm trying to weigh if the much larger mif files are worth it.

Looking to see if others have or haven't done it.

We did for quite a while (and we have a lot of clients).  I just had to use that local policy override to individually tell citrix servers to not inventory that particular class.  I have an (ongoing) advertisement to apply that local policy override to any citrix servers that show up in our environment. (even though it's currently off).

But currently it is off.  If, for whatever reason, the group that is monitoring SW Metering, which rules are enabed or not, wants fresh data; I'll probably turn it back on for a week or two, then back off.  Right now they don't need to have rules created for them (disabled).  and if they are missing something, they can always add in a rule; it's just that there wouldn't be one already listed that they just have to change from Disabled to Enabled.

Sherry, thanks for the info, especially in regards to the citrix servers.
