Hello,

First of all i beg you patience with me (i'm a newbie) and my english.

We have an SMS 2003 sp2 infraestructure with 13000 clients. The fact is that a couple days ago I realized that the admin console only shows as installed about 3000. A week before I can assure you that the number of clients istalled was near the 13000. The fact is that all those clients are well installed, but admin console does not agree.
I've been searching the web for help, but the solutions given are relevant if you have a few clients (duplicates guid's, problems with ccmexec...)
No gpo's have been modified, no boundaries...nothing. I'm the only one (I hope) who can touch the SMS infraestructure in my job.
Logs indicates no comunication problems with MP. No client installetion problems either.

As a solution I mofied the heartbeat discovery in the primarys an central sites, to run inmediately (yesterday), and I rerun the package "SMS Advanced Client Upgrade". As a result, the number of clients today is near 7000.

On the other hand, the inboxes auth\dataldr.box\badmifs are increasing. I guess it is due to this "missed" clients. SMS moves to this inbox the inventory files that cannot be processed and ask for a resynch...

Any help will be very appreciated,
auth\dataldr.box\badmifs
Alberto

I know you said no GPOs have been modified, but this happened to me when people started mucking around with the security settings on the SMS Agent Host service in group policy.  More info here, Method 2:

SMS Agent Host (Startup Mode: Automatic)hide Permissions Type Name Permission Allow Everyone Full Control Allow NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE Full Control
