Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas? I'm seeing these symptoms on 80 out of 1000 Windows 2003 Server client systems. It takes 4 hours or more to complete SWI and the client log looks like this. The soft timeout exceeded entry is what stands out. Nothing out of the ordinary is occurring on the server, no high CPU etc. Doesn't seem to be an excessive amount of files to be scanned....filesystem log indicates just over 2000. I did try to add the SoftwareInventoryThrottling value to the registry as indicated for Vista clients but that doesn't seem to have an affect.
