Hi all,

We have an SCCM native installation, 1 Primary and 2 Secondary (more secondary coming).  The issue I am running into for some reason is that the client is not installing with the push method.  The error in the ccmsetup log is that it cannot download from https://fvsdsccm.fvsd.ab.ca/CCM_Client/i386/BITS25/windowsxp-kb923845-x86-enu.exe which is the bits client.  So just to verify I manually installed said bits client (I connected to the client/i386/bits25 directory that is used in IIS via explorer) and installed the same exe that is listed above.  So the install account has permission, the exe is not corrupt.  It installed fine, after which the client push is currently installing the client. So I went into IIS and as fas as I can tell everything looks fine, but I cannot browse to anything in the CCM_Client site.  The local path is set correctly (i had seen that as a possible solution in places). So I am baffled.  I will try in a minute or two to install this on another computer and see what the log says and I can post the whole thing to see if that sheds any light.  Any ideas of what to check?

I ran into the exact issue yesterday...same file. Mine was permissions. Be aware that if you do it manually, it is connecting using the credentials of your user account. When it connects via the client push, it is using different credentials (either the site server's computer account or the client push installation account if you have set one up).

That was the thing, I made sure the account configured in SCCM console was the same one I logged onto the computer with.  Then just to play with my head, I tried a computer out of this site (this site 10.13.0.0 and the other one 10.20.0.0) and that one worked??  So I am biulding a new xp box as we speak to leave in this site and see what happens.  The really wierd thing is this was installing clients fine.  I guess in some regards the easy solution is to pre-install Bits, but that does not address the potential underlying issues that may pop up later and bite me in the backside.
