I am having an issue with a specific client that I can't get to successfully run the SMS advanced client.  I have tried to reinstall the client with no success.  The setup runs successfully, but I get the following in the ccmexec.log.  Anyone seen this before?

Registering for Logon/Logoff notifications. CcmExec 9/20/2006 3:09:13 PM 3296 (0x0CE0)
RegisterForLogon failed (0x80040154). CcmExec 9/20/2006 3:09:13 PM 3296 (0x0CE0)

Yes I have.  I tracked it down to being a corrupt WMI repository.  Is this happening on a workstation, server or SMS server.  Each require a different method of rebuilding the WMI repository.  Let me know which and I can provide some recommendations.

Follow the instructions on this site:  http://windowsxp.mvps.org/repairwmi.htm.  You want to start with the "Rebuilding the WMI Repository" and work down the list, if further rebuilding is necessary.

I have the same issue, but it is on a Server (x64).  What is the proper method for addressing WMI on a Server class OS and hardware?

I should know better to run WMIDiag first before messing with the WMI repository on a server.  Thanks for (virtually) knocking some sense into me :)

WMIDiag reports a number of errors with WMI namespace security.  I'm going to have a try at fixing those and give the client install another go.
