I have a server side application that pulls existing client data from the server, manipulates it, and then creates MIF files to update existing clients in the system.  The application worked fine on SMS, but with SCCM's new signing of client data, I am getting errors in the Dataldr.log file:

CDiscoverySource::VerifyClientPublicKeys - Untrusted report attempting to update trusted client.

Since the Client Agent sends signed data, it expects all future data to be signed.  How can I sign my MIFs so that the system will process them?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It might be easier to turn this into a MOF edit, plus there is a lot less over head processing MOF edit vs MIR files.

Yes, what data are you trying to capture?

I have some external data in a database that I want to bring in for various machines.  I currently have software that scans the SCCM database, finds the matching machine (based on an attribute) and then uses a MIF to create a new group (if necessary) in SCCM to store the information.  In another instance, I pull data from two fields and parse the strings to create a new value which I then store back in a new attribute.

So does this happen on the each client PC or just the site server? if this is the site server you might have problems as the site server will not be able to sign the MIF using the client certificate.

Is this for reporting reason? If so why not do this “live” in the web reports using linked Connection to the other db.
