I have an SMS script that gets username and machine name from the registry and also has a dialog box that asks the user several questions. All the information is then written to a network share in the form of %Username%.txt. I am trying to get the same functionality from an MSI. I created the MSI with a custom dialog that asks the user for his name I then set the control to a property and created the property. But I can't figure out what to do once the user has provided the information in the dialog box. I know it is stored in the property but how do get the value out of the property and write it to a txt file? Do you have any examples of working with user input through dialogs and then acting on the information?
