We have 700+ slow link DP's that i'm regulary pushing multiple packages too.  Just when i seem to figure out it's tendencies, it throws me another curve ball.  The problem i'm having is packages stall after the nightly reboot task.  What i mean by stall is distmgr.log doesn't show it copying any files, but package status shows install pending.  But not all packages will stall.  Also, sometimes it will continue copying where it left off either a few hours later or days later.  This doesn't happen every night, and it's not the same night of the week, but it's allways at midnight which is backup time.  I've found a couple ways to wake it up and it will sometimes work, for example, one of the packages that is stalled, i'll either do a copy package to new DP and that will make it continue.  Or i can do an update all DP's, but that sometimes makes it redo the hash check on allready installed DP's.  Is there another log i can monitor?  Distribution_Manager component Status doesn't seem to indicate anything.

Does anyone elses distmanager have a mind of it's own???

Thanks
-Ben

Just read my post and i meant to say BACKUP task, not REBOOT task.

"The problem i'm having is packages stall after the nightly BACKUP task."
