Guys -

I know Microsoft wont do it, but before I dive too deep into the database, I wanted to know if anyone else has done any research on the database behind SCCM, in particular the new tables under the SCCM_ext schema?

In particular, I notice tables named sccm_ext.system_disc_dd - the columns are rowversion, itemkey, and delDate. Im going to go out on a limb and assume the itemkey references the resource ID of an asset, and DelDate leads me to think its a date data will be deleted for that asset?

Im wondering if these tables are where SCCM keeps track of which records it will purge from the database, and whether these could be used as a target list to check for corrupt clients..

Anyone figured out these new tables yet?

Will

It is unlikely that Itemkey is MachineID for that table.

Take a look at this: http://www.myitforum.com/forums/m.asp?m=186508&mpage=1&key=
It is recommend that you use the views and not the tables.

Yea - I know its reccomended to use the views.. We generally follow this guideline, but there are instances when this simply cant be followed - like when you want your custom app to write directly to SMS. (Yes - I know you can use the provider, but when you are adding 10k+ direct membership rules, you save huge amounts of time writing directly to the database.)

Im really hoping these tables will provide some insight as to when data shows up in the v_class__disc or _hist tables.. or when data is deleted from the database.. may be used for some entirely different reason, but Id like to know.
