Newbie here.

Sending large package (300MB) to a number of users.
Many remote on VPN.

Is there a way the package can be downloaded to the user's PC prior to the user being notified that the package is ready for download and install?

Thx in advance

You can create another program for the package ahead of time with a commandline like

CMD /c EXIT 0

(which essentially does nothing)  You would make it DOWNLOAD AND EXECUTE.  This program would run hidden and just exit.  If you advertised this program to the machines and made it mandatory, it would download the source files when it becomes mandatory and then execute this benign commandline.  Then when you advertise the other program of the same package, it would realize the source is already there and wouldn't need to re-download it.

AFAIK the package will start downloading when it is offered, but won't actually start the program until the mandatory assignement time has passed.  So you could set the advetisement start time to start the download at a specific time, but set the mandatory assignement for a later time.
