Forgive me, i'm new to the driver injection with sccm2007, but here is my problem. When i image our new laptops, all the drivers are installed, but they always hang on standby. I've recreated the image with the same problem, i'm not getting any error messages, or no driver errors, but i'm suspecting that it is because of the driver injection.

I made one big driver package with all the drivers for all the hardware we have, and every pice of hardware gets the same driver package pushed to it. Is that a bad way to do it? Could that be my issue?

Also, in my list of drivers, a lot of them i see 3 or so duplicates. I wasn't worried about importing duplicates, because i though sccm would notice and error them out. They are exactly the same over all the columns including version number. Are they actually different in a way that's not being shown? Should i delete the duplicates?

Any tips for troublshooting why standby is hanging?

Alright, here's an update, I did a deployment with the driver injection step disabled in the task sequence. The image came up, installed the drivers manually, and it's still hanging. I've tried two seperate images, one with XPsp3, and the other XPsp2 with updates, and both are failures... Any ideas?

Turns out that it's something on the base image. I haven't pinpointed it yet, but i was able to create deploy a different image without an image. It happened on multiple base images so i guess it's something in my normal procedures....

Before capturing your OS .WIM image from your reference machine, try deleting the C:\Windows\INF\Oem*.inf and Oem*.pnf files...
