I re-ran the 1E WakeUp installation on all my clients to add the HEALTH=ON switch. I packaged it up in ConfigMgr and created a command-line:

"C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe" /q ALLUSERS=2 /m MSIPVDXL /i "WakeUpAgt.msi" HEALTH=ON

All the installations attempts failed with 

Error 1406. Could not write value Upgrade to key \Software\1E\WakeUpAgt

I'm running the install as an admin in Config Mgr. The permissions on everyone's WakeUpAgent key is Full Control for Admins.

Has anyone run across this before?

Hi Sandy,

Yes, I have seen this before. This happend to me in upgrade scenario only. (Once I first uninstalled the previous Agent, the install worked fine).

Hopefully the above can help you to get a workaround. I will investigate this on my side further.

Yes, I was afraid of that. It does look like the initial install goes well but re-running the install again fails every time. I'll submit a case and see if I can get a response from 1e.

There is no easy workaround for this, it will be fixed in the next MSI. (anything higher then 5.5.1.166)
Either uninstalll the Agent first if you hit this or:
Create a reg value Upgrade that equals to 5 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\1E\SMSWUagent
and/or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\1E\WakeUpAgt
On the Agent via script prior to running the upgrade.
