I'm running reports on software installed on some computers then exporting them to a .csv file to print out for someone.  Some of the software is Japanese, so initially it shows up as garbled ASCII but when I right click in the IE window, go to encoding, and change it to Japanese it shows the correct characters.  However, if I choose to Export then open the CSV the Japanese characters have changed back to the garbled ASCII.  Anyone know how to get these characters to export properly?

Those are pretty neat and I have the perfect use for them, but it also displays garbled ASCII instead of Japanese characters in it's CSV.  Is it possible to edit this to include reports that prompt for a computer name?  Something like feed a .txt file of computer names to it and get report01.csv, report02.csv, etc.?

Well, I wish I had a foreign version of Windows to test on so I can find out what's wrong with the Jap characters, but I don't.
Did you try the second one?  I thought I updated that one to handle extended characters...is it possible that IIS isn't sending the results in unicode? Hmmm...

As for the prompting...if your report has the prompt, then you just open the report the normal way, enter the computer name, click display and when the results come up, copy the URL of that screen and pass it to the script.

If you're looking to make the VBScript parse through a list of computers, then yeah you could do that, but there'd be a little work creating the code to parse through a file and then encode the computername (in case of any special non-alphabet characters) into the URL properly, but it could be done.
