One of my labs is not picking up any of its assigned task sequences. The execmgr.log file has the error "Common Client Agent Settings for the client are missing from WMI". Also when I go into the control panel applet for config manager the "actions" tab is not fully populated with all of the options that my other computers have.

I went into the console and re-installed the client. I ticked the box that says "always install..." and I watched in taskmgr ccmsetup running. After the install was done I rebooted the machine but I still get the same error.

It looks like the client is hosed. Is there any other method of re-installing the client? Are there any other log files that I should be looking at to provide me with an answer as to why this is happening?

Update:

I checked the repair log for the SCCM client and it definately failed with the following error.

MSI (s) (D0:98) [16:13:41:019]: Executing op: IniWriteRemoveValue(Section=text,Key=ASPNET_REQUESTS_NOT_AUTHORIZED_009_NAME,Value=Requests Not Authorized,Mode=2)

Update:

I think that I have found the exact issue. Now it is just solving it.

The client does not install properly. I get errors in ccmexec.log that SMSSHA_Startup returned an error code. In my event viewer I get the error:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{24FF4FDC-1D9F-4195-8C79-0DA39248FF48}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

When I search for that CLSID in the registry it comes up associated with "Quarantine Private SHA Binding Class".

So it looks like some components cannot start up. Does the word Quarantine have anything to do with Anti Virus software specifically or is this just the name of the key?

Check your ClientLocation.log and LocationServices.log to see if your having issues communicating with the MP.
