Hi everyone. I have two situations where folders remain after a migration. On one model, an Intel folder remains and another a Flash folder.

The permissions on these folders appear to be the issue. I cannot delete the folders after the migration without taking ownership.

I have not worked with OSD for very long. Am I correct in assuming that a migration does not format the drive since WinPE needs to be present? If this is correct, is it possible that these folders have permissions problems before the migration and with these problems a deletion is not possible? Since they are not deleted, they remain after the migration.

Thank you for any information.

It depends. You can configure the process to wipe the drive if you want (which is the normal way of doing things). I think we'd need a little more info on your setup before we can help. You say you're migrating (doing a machine refresh?), but nothing about what you're migrating from (same box, or different box?), or what you are using BDD 2007? MDT 2008? SMS 2003? SCCM 2007? Also, what's the full path to the folders? Does "SYSTEM" have Full Control of them?

A little more info might help someone give you a better answer than this one (I hope)...

I was able to locate the cause. This package occurs when a system is migrated and it is the same box.

The package that created the folder on the original image had permission problems. Once I corrected those, the folder was removed.

Thank you for the response.
