So, I've read over the HAL Detect walkthrough here: http://www.myitforum.com/articles/15/view.asp?id=8997 I must be missing something. On a PC with multiple processors, after sysprep runs - it just hangs at a black screen. I think some files are missing, but I'm not sure what I should do about it. The article mentions that: quote:
This script assumes the following files are being present in C:\Drivers\UniProcHAL hal.dll (Rename from halaacpi.dll to hal.dll) ntkrnlpa.exe ntoskrnl.exe It makes no mention of MultiProc HALs, until later, where it says: quote:
ACPI Multiprocessor PC - halmacpi.dll (renamed to hal.dll) - ntkrpamp.exe (renamed to ntkrnlpa.exe) - ntkrnlmp.exe (renamed to ntoskrnl.exe) I'm thinking this is the problem, as I only have the UniProc HAL files. But if so, I can't have two files named hal.dll, so what am I not understanding?
