IE 8/IE 7 Group Policy Configuration

We are doing a phased rollout for IE 8. We currently have the administrative templates for IE 7 running in our environment. Will those remain in place for IE 8? Do I have to configure separate admin templates for IE 8? Will machines that still have IE7 ignore those policies if they are needed? Will machines with IE 8 be able to implement group policy for IE 7 (links, urls, trusted sites, etc)?

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean up older posts that are unanswered. Did you ever figure this out? The IE 7 GPO should work for IE 8 Yes they will be separate template for IE 8. Yes IE 7 should ignore the IE 8 template.
