Imaging at 1 gig errors out Monday, August 13, 2012 1:10 PM (permalink)

????We recently upgraded some of our machines to 1 gig connections and when we try to push an image out to them they are failing, the same machines work after we change them 100. We only started using SCCM in the past couple years and I didn't set the system up so there are parts of it I am still learning, I don't if it is beyond the SCCM 2007 to run at a gig or if it something we have miss-configured. I don't see any other threads on this, but I am leaning towards configuration. Anyone have any ideas where a setting would be for this? Thanks Liesa

I run SCCM all the time at 1 GB connect and I have done OSD on a 1 GB connections. My bet is that something is misconfigured, but it is not with SCCM, it would be with the network or on the PC, or maybe even the NIC drivers.

I checked with our techs to make sure I knew for sure what issue we are having and they are saying towards the end of the image process the computers get stuck in a reboot cycle, any ideas what could cause this? He said if he catches it right away he can force safe mode and it stops.

Are you using deep freeze or any other software that locks down the desktop?

well I think we found the problem as you mentioned the network possibly being the issue we did some digging around and figured out it is likely our longer runs on CAT5 giving the issue. Of course if I had been told that we had some locations working in the first place I might have figured it out sooner. To answer the question though we don't use any software like deep freeze but we do lock down real nicely with McAfee products. Thanks for the help.
