I have a question regarding the Install Multiple Applications action in ConfigMgr Task Sequences.  There is a checkbox option on this action called "If an application installation fails, continue installing other applications in the list"  Does anyone know what this really means.  It doesn't seem to do what it should.  I performed one test with about 10 packages in the PACKAGES(*) list.  I made sure all the package codes, programs were correct and the packages were all on a DP as they should be.  Everything installed fine.

Next I wanted to test this failure option.  So I took 3 or 4 of the PACKAGES and removed all the DP's, thinking these would just get skipped and the rest would install.  It installed one package fine, but as soon as it got to the first one in the list that did not have a DP the whole action failed.  This option seems like false advertising to me.

Did you check the smsts.log to see what was going.  I haven't personally tested this option so I'm not saying it works perfectly, but there might be something else going on.  It could be a bug.  Check the log and see what it says.  If the two things (the checkbox and log) don't correspond, it might be time to submit a bug report.

I thought that kicked in when an application being installed returned an error code instead of a success code. So just pulling the DP stuff wouldn't be a valid test...

That does make sense.  I was hoping it would account for situations when the execution command line may be invalid for the program or when the package couldn't be found on a DP.  Seems like this are frequent occurrences in my environment with 700 packages and 50 DP's spread all over the country.
