Hi,

An understanding issue here - can I have (with distributed deployment in mind) multiple SUPs in an infrastructure with only one primary site?
Thanks

no only one SUP per Site.  You can updated DPs with approved updates and clients will scan from SUP but pull updates from DP

Not actually true - you can have multiple SUPs. The client PCs must SCAN from the local SUP and then get the actual patch downloads from the nearest DP. So its down to you. For example if you have a large secondary site then you create a SUP at the secondary - just like you'd have a proxy MP and then you'd find the clients scan against the local WSUS database on that secondary rather than having to make WAN connections to the parent primary
