Hello All,
Anyone have any tips as to how I could script the override or disable alerts for a given system during maintenance?  Lets say I was going to use Altiris/Landesk/SMS to kick off a maintenance job (patch, update, software install, whatever) and I wanted to first trigger a script to prevent alerts from appearing in SCOM and then turn the alerts back on at the end of the cycle.  Looks like service manager might be able to do this in 2010 or so, but not sure how to do this now with a third party tool calling a script.

Thanks
pete

Just put the system into maintenance mode.  This can easily be scripted: http://www.systemcenterforum.org/collection-of-maintenance-mode-scripts-utilities-and-mps-for-opsmgr-and-essentials-2007/.
