Hi.
I just installed SCCM R2, and configured the PXE Service Point with the Unknown Computer Solution.
It's worked for one hour, and now i get problem to get the function work correctly.

I attach a file with the problem from the client.
I have reinstalled the service point..

Hi.
It's works with known computers, not for unkown.

If i boot from a bootable iso, it works for unknow computers.. So it's only the PXE Service Point that's dont work correctly.

"No Boot Action for Device"
"No Advertisement found in Db for device"

Are you sure that the advertisement is still valid? Do you have advertisements set for both Unknown Machine resources (x86 and x64)? Are they mandatory or optional advertisements?

Hi.
Yes the advertisement is both for the Unknown Machine resources (x86 and x64), i have tried both mandatory or optional.. But right now i using optional. I can not find any documention regarding the advertisement, only that i should use the "pxe option".

any resolution to this?  I'm having the same problem.  I can build an existing machine in the database using PXE.  I can build both existing and unknown computers using boot CD.  It's PXE booting an unknown machine that is not working.  I know the PSP is recognizing the client's request.  Status message for the PSP role shows the following for this client:

SMS_PXE_SERVICE_POINT 6314 The SMS PXE Service Point intructed device to boot normally since it has no PXE advertisement assigned.

I know the mandatory advertisement to the All Unknown Computers collection is working since a CD based install to this same computer works fine.  I double checked the PSP role properties and confirmed the Enable Unknown Computer Support is checked.  Anything else I can check?

I was able to get it working. I have to create new boot media. And I found you have to advertise the task sequence to the unknown computers collection. Thanks for the help.

what do you mean you had to create new boot media.  that really has no direct correlation to this topic.  The problem is with PXE suport for Unknown Computers.  We know that builds initiated with the build CD work for Unknown Comptuers.
