We currently have all of our XPSP2 images in RIS - installed without RIPrep so all of the drivers are discovered on deployment. We are looking to port these images to the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. We do have SMS 2003 but the OSD Feature Pack has not been installed (working on that). In the meantime, we are trying to at least do a proof of concept using LiteTouch.

MDT 2008 is installed and the SQL Database configured. We have been able to get drivers integrated for two different hardware platforms (HP dc7600 and 7700) and OS patches slip streamed successfully. The next task on our list is to have specific applications install for different hardware. I have tried adding Make and Model entries (I used wmic to get the appropriate values) and then tried adding both Applications and Packages from our SMS environment. Nothing happened. I then tried adding a specific Computer and doing the same thing. Still no luck.

I'm obviously at the beginning stages here, but I can't even find any useful log files to show me the errors of my ways! MMS is really just days away and I would like to at least know enough to ask questions when I get to LV.

Any direction would be appreciated.
