Hi,
I am trying to provide a centralised power management solution via SMS 2003 by configuring an advertisement to hibernate all the PC’s in a collection after a certain hour. This works fine for a percentage of the PC’s but I then want to the run the psshutdown.exe –h to force hibernation on the remaining PC’s.
My question is that by creating an scheduled advertisement  for the psshutdown.exe –h command, this will execute when the PCs return from hibernation in the next morning when the SMS agent does a policy retrieval, Is there any way to avoid this ??
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks,
IB.

Why not just send down an Adv to setup the powerscheme so it will perform all these actions by itself

This is what we use for our presenation machines so it is backwards from what you are doing but you just need to change this and send it down the pip.

--------------------
powercfg.exe /change "always on" /standby-timeout-ac 0
powercfg.exe /change "always on" /disk-timeout-ac 0
powercfg.exe /change "always on" /hibernate-timeout-ac 0
powercfg.exe /SETACTIVE "always on"

Thanks for the reply, I have a scheduled an adv that configures a "Green" power scheme, but some PC's don't seem to hibernate, I was just looking for a way to force hibernation on these PC ... I have a few lines of code that will only execute after a certain time (outside of business hour) that I will test to see if this will hibernate the remaining PC's

Thanks,
ib.
