I am trying to install 3 msi files.  They have to be installed one after another one. 
I created 3 packages and 3 advertisements.  Command line is the same for all of them (msi files and log names are different):
msiexec /qn /i communicator.msi /Lime Communicator.txt.

The problem that I have is that it shows me that it is retrying.  It is retrying for each package.  More than 24 hours by now.

I tried to delete advertisements and create new once but it did not help.  As soon as I create new advertisement for the same package, it shows right away that it is retrying.

I assign another empty collection to those advertisements but it still shows me that it is retrying.

Any ideas?  Should there be a way to cancel retrying without delting the package?  Even if I delete it, will it stop the process?  I tried to reboot workstations and server but it did not help.

Status: offline 		You could probably do it by creating One package with 3 programs that are daisy chained to each other.  This is a method I did to install SAV and two patches.  One thing to check is whether your packages were successfully copied over to the DP's.  Where are you seeing the retry in?  Is it in the Advertisement Status web report?  By saying you pointed the advertisement to an empty collection and it's still telling you that it's retrying leads me to believe the packages never got copied over to the DP's.  Do this, go to your System Status, and drill down to the package status.  Find the first package and verify it has copied over to the DP's.

I have 3 different packages and they are daisy chained.

I am sure that they are copied to DP because I had 1 workstation where installation was successful.  Also, I double checked it in the System Status and it says that is was installed for every package.

I see that they are retrying in the Advertisement Status web report.

Status: offline 		Find one of your clients where the advertiesment is in retry.  Connect to the client and traverse to the logs.  In the execmgr.log see what is being reported.  Do you only have 1 DP in your environment or is it a large environment in which  there are multpile DP's?

I have only 1 DP.

I readded workstation to the collection that installs those packages.  It accepted them and nothing else.

Status: offline 		Ok that is odd...it looks like it's receiving the policy but its never raising the event and prepping it to run.  You don't have any of the following in your log?

Status: offline 		1603 is a pretty generic error code. I would recommend the logging (for Live Meeting as that's the one that looks like it is failing). Just put a path for the log ex: /L*v c:\livemeet.log (verbose, and log everything)

then check for more specific errors in the log.

I did what you suggested and it created the log file for me.  There are 3 errors in the log:

Status: offline 		Google.com or live.com (or whatever search engine you use). search for error and 1316. There are many results. This is an error with your install, it does not appear to be specific to SMS/ConfigMgr

Some suggestions are to run Windows installer cleanup and cleanup the offending app (in your case it looks like live meeting), and there are other suggestions as well.

Status: offline 		Sorry this response is probably 5 months too late but you should try caching local then executing the MSI.  Connectivity might be having a hiccup at the wrong time But I would say it is creating {69CEBEF8-52AA-4436-A3C9-684AF57B0307}v8.0.6362.0.msi locally but is trying to execute from the server location since you run the original MSI from the server.

As for Property(S): ErrorDialog = ErrorDialog that is just the MSI telling you a property value it is setting for itself and is not an error at all.
