Unfortunately Dell usually distibutes the Intel chipset drivers this way. the good new though is that the drivers that are needed are not specific to Dell. You can download the latest chipset drivers straight from Intel and use those. To my knowledge, all Intel chipset drivers/infs are distributed in one big package that is common to all chipsets and OEMs: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=816&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21. This also implies that if you already have Intel chipset drivers imported, you don't have to import new ones because they aren't specific to vendor desktop models.
