We have Configmgr 2007 installed at our Central site.  We have an SMS2003 secondary site that I want to upgrade to a Configmgr Primary site using the same server.

I plan on uninstalling the Secondary site from the Central site and installing a ConfigMgr primary site keeping the same boundaries.

As for the clients if I do a discovery it should find all of the computers that were in the secondary site but are still assigned to the Central site, correct?  If I just do a push installation with the SMSSITECODE =AUTO will these clients upgrade and change there site code and get reassigned to the new primary?  Is it that simple?

I think it could be even easier than re-installing the client.  Since your clients already belong to the Central site code, once the Primary Child site is up, you can just use the Central Site to advertise a re-assign sitecode script to all the clients you want to reassign.  Steve Thompson posted a reassign script you could use.
