Hi,
I have a strange issue in which after initial setup which contain Two HDs (C: and D:) in which the Full Vista installation is put on C: i try to sysprep /generalize the machine, only to encounter the "The system registry contains invalid file paths. Installation cannot proceed" Descibed here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947245/

This doesn't happen on all of my models and both disks partitions are recreated during the initial Setup

Or.

Hmm it definately sounds like it is caused by having the multiple drives during the capture.   If D: is empty can you sysprep and capture your image with just a C: drive and then create the D: during the deployment phase using the diskpart text file?

I just wanted to run Sysprep /oobe /generalize on my machine for testing purposes and it failed
It was just a clean install With C: and D: (I can't remove D: as this is an OEM Purpose Machine)

I am curious since the MS article describes hardcoded values to invalid drives; If you search through the registry for D: or D:\ do you find any references?  Did Vista maybe put some hardcoded references to D:\ that is causing the sysprep to fail?  Just curious is all, not that it may help the cause..

I Admint, it is a bit weird
The main thing i've found that is different is that during Vista installation, i delete both drives partition but when i choose to install the OS into Disk 0, the setup ask if i want to create a system partition on Disk 1 because Disk 0 does not have a Filesystem which fits Vista criteria

I will check the registry for Drive D:

Hmm That definately sounds like it may be the culprit since it obviously put some system files on Disk 1 during installation.  Though I am not sure why Disk 0 would not have a FileSystem which fits Vista criteria if you could've done a Format on that partition ahead of time.  Interesting, post your findings.
