I have been using Ron Crumbaker's SMS 2003 Remote Tools for some time now.  I have added several buttons and functions along the way that are specific to our environment.  Today I wrote an external utility as an HTA to allow our field folks to make some registry changes remotely.

Good news:  Everything within the HTA code is working as expected.  Then I thought it would be cool to put this in the "one-stop-shop" of Remote Tools, but wanted to just launch the HTA with the computer name from the web tools.

Bad news:  I seem to be unable to launch the HTA from within the web tools.  I tried placing the HTA in the same IIS folder as MACHREST.ASP, also tried putting the HTA file in the Remote$ hidden share thinking it was a rights issue.

Now I think I have "over thought" the issue and lost track!

Has anyone else added any buttons that launch an HTA from within the SMS 2003 Remote Tools web page?  If so, anything special you had to do or can you copy up a sample of the button you used to launch.

Thanks,
Brian

Turns out it was and ID10T error.  Recently we setup Admin and Non-Admin accounts for specific job functions.  And you probably already guessed it, I wasn't logged in with rights that I needed to perform the admin tasks with.

Once I put the file in the Remote$ share and used the proper account, I'm back in business!

Retrieve gun, load single round, shoot self in foot, proceed to hospital!  :-)
