Sometimes when I try to use Remote Tools on a computer it will not allow me to connect because it says that the host does not exist. When this happens I find that it is a case where the workstation goes beyond the NETBIOS charachter limit. All I see in SCCM is the truncated NETBIOS name. Is there a way to just use DNS for this? There are a lot of computers on my network that do not adhere to the charachter limit and forcing a change that limits charachters would force me to change my entire naming convention.

Do I have something misconfigured or is this how SCCM works?
