Does anyone have any experience restoring SCCM Secondary sites from backup? I am trying to replace the hardware on my secondary site/distribution point servers with about 200+ package on the distribution points.  I would like to restore the secondary site from backup without having to resend the 200+ packages across the WAN link.

I see there is a repair site wizard but it appears to be only for primary sites.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Tom

Are the smspkg\*.pck files still available locally on the lan?  Here's one method.

Thanks for the advice.  I am having problems getting the .PKG files into the inboxes\distmgr.box.  The preloadpackageonsite.exe command seems to fail without these files.  Do you have any ideas on how to get the .PKG files propogated to the new seconadary site?  Thanks again.

I don't really understand your question.  Once you've sent down at least 1 package normally from the console, and have seen the smspkg & smspkgX$ recreated... I would copy (let's pretend it was all installed on drive D:)  d:\smspkg\*.* to the new servers' d:\smspkg folder.  This a manual process.  Check Permissions match, and verify *.pkg files in the new location are read-only.  Then you run the preloadpkgonsite.exe (using the ConfigMgr one, correct?), watch the logs, and then from the console add the packages to the new Secondary.
