hi,

when i am trying to install mom agent on windows xp machine its giving me an error

rpc server is unavailable.mom 2005 sp1

firewall is off. macfee ver 7.1
please help.

Hi. Turn off macfee too. If you cant get it to work you can install the agent manually.

No, it did not help.
i installed fresh windows xp sp2 without antivirus and turned off firewall .still
i am  getting "the RPC server is unavaliable". any suggestions.

Hi have you checked out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885726/

Also check name resolution is working

I would veryfiy remote registry is enabled and that nslookup works from both the agent to the management server and from the management server to the agent.

Worse case scenario you can copy the exe manually to the agent and see if you can install.  There are log files on the management server that are a bit more detailed about failed installations.
