1. I create in Acitve Directory new attribute "monitorAssetNumber" (type "String UNICODE").
2. Append  "monitorAssetNumber" to SCCM Active Directory System Discovery (Active Directory attribute).
3. Set value of this attribute (VB-script) manually
3. Run discovering and view log:
"System TEST1 is accessible. IP address is 192.168.11.10.
WARNING: Type not supported for the follwoing optional attributes, monitorAssetNumber,"
4. This attribute doesn't appear in database (v_R_System).

How I can solve this problem? Please help.

Based on the warning message, it sounds like it doesn't like the type you've assigned to the attribute: String UNICODE.  Have you tried other attribute types?  You are doing this in a test environment?

To clarify, you created new attributes, with different attribute types and received the same error?

Just for the record, the availabe attribute types are actually called syntax types and documented on TechNet: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/distrib/dsbe_ext_dghb.mspx?mfr=true. Note that I don't see "string of capital letters" in this list so I'm not sure that we are talking about the same thing.

What about how you are creating the attributes (the first question in my last post)? Which class are you adding the attributes to? Are you creating new attributes to test the different types?

1. I try it in test environment.
2. I use "Computer" class.
3. Yes, new attributes was different types.
