I've recently upgraded our environment from SMS 2003 SP3 to SCCM SP1. I did a side-by-side upgrade, and the process itself was relatively painless.

The boundaries were removed from the old SMS site and the new SCCM site is managing them. Some clients still have the old site code, but I'm addressing them as I go along. We have about 5000 clients total.

Now to the issue: I've noticed a LOT of MIFs in inboxes\auth\dataldr.box, and inboxes\auth\dataldr.box\process. I've checked the dataldr.log, and things seem to be processing, albeit slowly. The MIFs do move around, so I can tell it's doing its job. However, everything is horrendously slow. Even the console, on my box as well as the server, takes ages to do anything. I realize it isn't as fast as the SMS console... and it first, the lags were very manageable. However, now every action takes at least 30 - 60 seconds per mouse click.

I've looked at the system status, but nothing stood out to me as to what could be causing the server to be processing everything so slowly.

Does anyone have any idea where else I can look? If there is any additional information I can provide to help me troubleshoot, let me know.

I noticed something else (and I have no idea how I missed this before). The SMS_OFFER_STATUS_SUMMARIZER says 'Failed' as status, and there are 14K+ SFV files in the OfferSum.Box. I'm seeing a LOT of messages similar to this in the offersum.log:

I'm running SCCM 2007 SP1 R2, installed very recently on a fully patched and updated 2003 x64 server with SQL 2005 x64, latest service pack.

They should be. I checked for W32Time events in the System log on the server, and found an event stating that it is synchronizing. The last event was at 8:45AM this morning.

Well, I spoke to Microsoft Premier support for about 5 hours this morning. After much investigation, we turned off the McAfee OnAccess Scanner on the server. Everything went crazy! Information started passing very quickly.

Most of my inboxes are caught up. The auth\sinv.box is taking a while to get back to normal, but everything else seems OK:
