We install SCCM client via Group Policy and it works well for most of the PCs. For a small numbers of ourworkstations, the installation is failing and it keeps complaining
Failed to access source file (3). Waiting for retry...
Does anyone know what is the issue?

Is the MSI you are using ccmsetup.msi and is this file located in a place where your computer accounts can access it (authenticated users)? You only need this file (nothing else) and it should be located in a place like “netlogon” or somethingalong those lines so machines that are part of your domain can access the file.

Anything on the site server status such as SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. The machine does have access to the ccmsetup.msi. I discovered when I manully delete all files in the system32\ccmsetup foler (except CCMSETUP.EXE and CCMSETUP.LOG which I could not delete) and reboot PC, SCCM client is installed successfully. I also checked SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER status and it shows ok. It complains nothing for the PCs that I am having trouble to install SCCM via GP.
