Just updated our SMS 2003 to SCCM 2007, everything went fine. Now I tried to install the console on a Windows 2000 machine, and nothing happens. Not even an error message. Is the new console not possible to install on a Windows 2000 pro box? Is there some prereq that I could have missed?

Never tried it but it should work as SCCM still supports Windows 2000 SP4 boxes

so first of all

Check if you have SP4 installed

and

Check if you have installed all SCCM prereq's like MMC3.0, .NET,...

Sorry, you can't install the ConfigMgr console on Windows 2000. I was pretty sure it gave an error stating that the installation isn't a valid Win32 applications, but I may be wrong.

Either way, it can't be done.

Yes, that is the error I get when I try to run the installation manually. Thanks for the replies, luckily only two machines were affected so it's no big deal.

No problems. Interestingly you get the same error running extadsch.exe on WIndows 2000 server. It needs Server 2003...
